Jenny raced her last individual event at these Olympics last night, the 100 Free. It was an emotional and proud moment for all of us.
While a Gold medal would have been WELL-deserved, Jenny's tie with teammate Dara Torres was poetic in its own way. An ironic climax to their racing rivalry.
With this medal, Jenny again made history by becoming the most decorated female Olympian of all time. It's fitting that her years on top are recognized with this honor. What an amazing achievement! What an amazing gal!
Overall, the US is making an impressive mark on these swimming events. Heading into the last day, we've earned 29 medals in 28 events — not bad!
And we aint done yet!
Cheers from down under,
Karen and Tom
