YogaOur approach to yoga is to teach conscious movement from the perspective of healthy biomechanics, and to support how the body is designed to move. A complete system of conditioning, yoga is a 4,000 year-old discipline that helps to create spiritual and physical health. Meaning "union," yoga links movement with breath. At Center of Balance, we create exercise sequences that relate to modern lifestyle so people can train safely and develop a more balanced body.

The integration of yoga at Center of Balance is taught with a strong appreciation of proper alignment, tone and core connection as emphasized in the Pilates system. We teach a seamless blend of movements that support balanced conditioning, and help us grow physically smarter, mentally present, and become healthier and more graceful as we age.

Mat Classes

Our mat classes blend Pilates, yoga as well as other complimentary movement modalities to help you make connections in your body and learn to move better. You’ll also learn fundamentals of movement, conscious breathing, resistance stretching, and the use of props, to get the most out of each class. All of our classes are drop-in and open to all levels — instructors offer modifications for those who are beginning and variations for more advanced students. In this way, we can have all levels in class. If you have any injuries or movement limitations, we highly recommend taking private sessions for assessment and guidance before taking mat class. Check our class schedule for days and times!
